Chongqing’s Tourism Impresses New York with Natural Beauty and Cultural Appeal

December 31st, 2018, Chongqing’s Tourism Press Conference and Photo Exhibition were held at Westin New York. VIP guests included Huang, Ping, Consul General of Consulate General of People's Republic of China in NY; Wang, Ding Guo, Deputy Director-General of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development; Qian, Jin, Deputy Consul General of Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York; Li, Liyan, Cultural Counselor of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York; Zhou, Xiaozheng, Director of Xinhua News Agency North America; Fan, Xiuyun, Deputy Director of China National Tourist Office in New York and Peter Zhang, President of the Sino-American Friendship Association as well as numerous representatives from travel industry, including travel agencies, tour operators, airlines among others. After viewing the photo exhibition and experiencing the VR show, guests highly praised Chongqing’s culture and tourism.

“We hope we will seize the opportunity of this event and make joint efforts to advance our tourism exchange and cooperation to a higher level.” said Wang, Ding Guo of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development. Also, he sincerely invited the audience to participate in the Sixth Western China Tourism Industry Expo and the 2019 Smart China Expo.

Li, Liyan, Counselor of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in New York extended New Year greetings to guests, and said: “I hope that you can pay a visit to China especially to Chongqing for sightseeing, so as to appreciate the beautiful scenery and diversified culture of China yourself.”

At the event, Wang, Dingguo officially presented a plate of “Chongqing China  Culture & Tourism Promotion Center in New York” to Sino-American Friendship Association, Ambassador Huang witnessed this moment.

“Chongqing is a highly internationalized city. Sino-American Friendship Association will take an active part in promoting Chongqing’s culture and tourism in American. We will advance culture and tourism exchange and cooperation between Chongqing and American, introduce Chongqing to more American tourists and attract them to travel to Chongqing, as well as visit and investigate Chongqing,” said Peter Zhang, President of Sino-American Friendship Association.
