2017 Empowering Women and Sustainable Development Summit
The spotlight was put squarely on empowering and inspiring women through interactions in economy, art and fashion between excellent women all over the world on June 20, 2017 at the 2017 Empowering Women and Sustainable Development Summit hosted by the China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) and the Sino-American Friendship Association (SAFA) at the United Nations Headquarters.
The international list of distinguished speakers, panelists, and attendees included Minoru Takada, Team Leader of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs; Dr. the Hon. Donna E. Hunte-Cox, Consul General of Barbados in New York; Zhang, MeiFang, Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China in New York; Huang, Huijuan, Deputy Director of Public Communication Department of China Women's Development Foundation; Huang, Hongying, Vice President of VIP.com; Peter Zhang, President of Sino-American Friendship Association and other special guests from China.
Li Li, Executive Vice President of SAFA, indicated that Chinese women have been actively involved in politics, science, sports, art and national public welfare causes.

During their stay in New York, the delegates of CWDF visited Barnard College, Columbia University and discussed the topic of higher education for women with the officials from Office of the Provost.
